Hush - we are the greens
Hush - we are the greens
If you cut us - do we not bleed sap ?
We are so close - don’t tell us we’re not brothers, sisters on the rock
We all need air
And sunshine water and a patch of earth
No bigger than a hand for roots
To anchor us and give us our direction
Connection to a distant star
The moving’s relative
The whole world spins
The earth holds steady underneath the hand

the court of miracles
not to have lost is a blessing - it’s all in the scale
here on the window sill - all in a line
In an octave I have a mother-in-laws tongue
I have a Chinese cactus from Keri at the takeaway
A leafless baobab is sprouting again
after many months, it’s showing The thing they do with water a millimetre of the brightest green and may yet have leaves. Earth and Sunlight Bromeliad,
a growing coconut - well past the stage when it was cute Everyday Miracles or even fit under the rail, house leeks and crassulas, living stones, Colossal in scale a pottery rabbit
and an aloe vera
